Love their version of girl scout cookies and also their humus. It's nice to know you're not as likely to get your car dinged by a stray basket.
No one's going to hate on anyone for not liking Aldi's. Who cares? It's just a grocery store, everyone has their own opinion on grocery stores.

I'm a big fan of the chicken salad. Has become a staple for me .... Plus a German friend pointed out to me how "employee friendly" it is. Where else are the checkers given a tall stool? I shop at both the east and west Pearland & Pasadena locations, and I've noticed that if more than three back up, they call someone to open another lane. In Pasadena, the Aldi shares a parking lot in proximity to the .99 Only Store. Last week, I noticed the .99 store has added the quarter deposit locks to their shopping carts. Maybe it will catch on! Seems like the .99 shoppers were having a bit of a problem catching on to the concept, but makes a nice "tip" for whomever has to/wants to clear the carts from the parking lot.

Every time that I go to a store, be it Sam's Club, HEB, Kroger, Costco, etc., I spend several minutes on my way in moving carts (that other inconsiderates left strewn around the parking area) to a (typically) nearby cart holder. I then straighten those so that other folks have an easier time putting their carts in as well. As you can imagine, I get a lot of funny looks from people, but some say thanks and even the cart guys thank me when they notice what I have done. Now, if more people would do part of that, the cart problem would disappear. However, we know that walking 10 feet to put the cart in its proper location is too much trouble for many shoppers.

What do yall do when it's pouring down rain? I'm pretty sure some people would give up their quarter and hopefully find a quick, suitable place to position and leave the cart. I would 😐

Don't know about you HC, but I generally don't go grocery shopping (or any other shopping) when it's raining or even if I know rain is eminent.

I have my Aldi bags in the trunk and my quarter in cup holder (you never know when you may need it )

@Mgd11

Exactly Mgd11! I always have a quarter just hanging out in the middle console or a cup holder.

I went to Aldis once. It wasn't my cup of tea.

I didn't mind the 25 cent basket, especially since there was a lady who couldn't figure out how to get her quarter back so she gave her basket to me, and I'm one of those folks who bring the basket back to the store or corral anyway so no biggie, and I didn't mind the bagging part because I take reusable bags with me where ever I go and bagging my own never bothered me.

What tainted my experience was that they didn't have a lot of my staples and a lot of their produce comes in bags of multiples. If I want one apple or jalapeño, I don't want to have to buy an entire bag. And after going through the whole store and only finding half my grocery list, I ended up having to go to Kroger anyway. I'm a one stop grocery shopper, I dont like having to go to a another store, especially in the Summer time when things can melt in the trunk. So I never went to Aldis again.

I never saw the big deal either.

I think that they keep their prices low by making us bag our own bags and did y'all notice they don't play music either? Thought that was different!

@MartiMo

I remember MOST of the time....haven't gotten into the habit yet when at a dollar store. In fact, I've got to go to 3 different stores tomorrow. Will see if I remember to grab extras. 😁

@SLPRUETT Forgot about Auchan. I'm not a fan of Sam's or Costco. Can't get past the "membership" deal. I don't drive the toll roads either, I'll show them. Lol. Not paying to drive on a road that we paid to build. Hard head. 😂😂
