Did anyone see any of the news on Wednesday afternoon? I am not sure what channel I was on, but the Police Mall Patrol Units are doing a really great job - HOWEVER - Constable Alan Rosen, I think he is in Precinct 4 - wherever that is at - north part of Houston, Katy, etc.??? Constable Rosen was walking in the parking lot of a mall "observing" stuff left in plain view through car / truck / SUV windows and leaving them a "ticket of sorts (warning". Then he started watching the shoppers in the parking lot going back to their cars. One person yakking on the phone, Rosen removed a full bag from her basket and she never noticed it. He milled around until she got to her car, he made small talk with her and they were talking about being very careful, alert and aware while shopping. She has all of her bags loaded in the car, tells Office Rosen it was good to chat with him and Rosen pulls out the bag he "lifted" from her cart while she was on the phone...That woman was speechless. As Constable Rosen continued his little daily stroll, sees a lady, again on the cell phone, purse in the baby carry seat - she does have her hand on the handle of the purse and it looked to be a pretty sturdy chain. Rosen strolled past her, made small talk, grabs her purse, she hangs onto the purse, lost her balance and spun around just about to "plant a fist" in Rosen's face when the chain purse handle broke. Rosen walked back a few feet. She is just standing there with a blank stare on her face before she totally lost it into a meltdown. These things are what some of the Police Departments and Mall Security companies are doing to make people to be aware of their surroundings. Take care folks, it is a big, mean, cruel world out there. It happens all year long, but especially during the Holidays.

More reason to stay off the phone, hurry get your stuff in the car and go!

@MommaHen : Every year shoppers are warned to be aware of your surroundings stay off your cell phone & have keys in your hand don't start fumbling for them in your purse when you reach your car. And ladies PLEASE if someone grabs your purse let it go, your life means so much more.
