I hate that there is more crime now that Pearland is growing so much. We do have the best police force though! Anytime we needed them, they have been right there. Thank you Pearland Police!

@Stealth83 : Go online and purchase a small pocket size hand held canister of Mace, and when you leave your car, make sure you have it in your hand. If someone attempts to take your purse or assault you, put your finger on the trigger, spray it towards their face, and it will stop them in their tracks. It won't hurt them, but it will sting badly and you will have plenty of time to get away from them. If every woman or man, for that matter, would carry mace, it might just deter these people that feel they don't have to work, but can just take what others work for.

@Maria60 : I believe if these won't work individuals that would rather take other peoples hard earned money realized that women were carrying mace, they might be a little apprehensive about trying to steal their purses or wallets. For women that are afraid to carry anything that might stop someone from stealing their wallet or purse, someone should come out with a sign for women to wear that says, "I am armed!" These criminals that don't know who has a deterrent, just might think twice about attacking a woman or attempting to steal her purse.

I see people leave their purses in their baskets, turn their back to pick up a grocery item...they are making themselves a "prime target". Whenever I see someone doing that, I speak up and say: "Mammam, that is not safe", they come back with the reply of: I have it strapped in the child seat with the seat belt that is there. At that point I just tell them, please be careful.

@ellar : I totally love your idea, maybe a vest type pull on in the bright lime green construction companies color. What these "type of people" should wonder...ummm, is she or isn't she and I AIN'T GONNA FIND OUT.

@Lady : that is so sad to here cuz I worked in that store when it first opened and Mr Spearman-Mgr & all of the asst mgrswere top of the line. When mgmt changed it went down hill quick.

@MommaHen : I think we're twins. Exactly what I do. Our mothers identity was stolen about 10 yrs ago. 2 women "worked her" for lack of a better word. One pulled her away real sweet asking what washing powder she used, etc. The other thumbing thru her billfold.
We tracked her down easily because most of the charges were mail order. We called & gave our Cagney & Lacey info. They'd already closed the report. Not worth prosecuting. I was **** &: wanted to go yank her out of her house. Mama said so sweet, "Sister, I don't think that's a good idea. My credit is bad & wouldn't be able to go your bail". Lol.
