@Natasha We just can't always rely on the police. They are stretched thin and over worked. Some will not agree, but the best thing that has happened to our state is the conseal/open firearm carry laws. Natasha, you should consider carrying if you aren't already. ANYONE that frequents banks, is a woman that travels a lot alone should be well versed with a pistol. In this day and time, it's just good sense and the best insurance policy you could have. Many, many different classes are taught in our areas targeting women to be at ease with carrying, the proper technique and the huge piece of mind it can offer you.
Natasha, you are also doing all the right things by being aware that you could be watched while leaving the bank. Being scared is a reactive emotion that you are indeed at risk. Listen to it and watch your surroundings. Drive to the police station if it's near and sit there a minute.
My wife goes to the bank for her work everyday at lunch. She carrys a handgun and knows how to use it very well.
Please be vigilant, aware and protect yourselves. I say this all the time, the best defense is a good offense.
I don't want anyone to be hurt or killed from being unprepared, when it's such an easy thing to do.
Be safe.
