I NEED I need a whole person vacuum. It should be shaped like a metal detector, you know, the walk through kind. When anyone leaves my house, they should have the option of walking through it, to remove all the stray pet fur my animals share.

Daisy had to go to the vet the other day, and when we left, the vet, the tech, and most of the office looked like they had been rolling around in yellow fur. In truth, they looked much like me, when I went in, and when I left. Tufts of fur were blowing around the waiting room floor, like tiny fluffy tumbleweeds.

This wasn't why she was there, this is normal for her. Labs "blow their coats" at least twice a year, more often if you are lucky. I just really think a more efficient pet fur remover would be appreciated for any and all who visit here.

Well, if you come to my house it is a sure thing you will leave with some. Best to wear tweed, since we have black, brown, white, and blond fur, it is less likely to show.

@susieq : What a great idea! I guarantee someday you will see the whole person vacuum for sale somewhere. My dog does not shed, but I am pet sitting an Australian Shepherd right now. 😯 Now I feel your pain.

@GoOilers2019 : those bounce dryer sheets for pet hair work pretty good. Fur does not stick so quickly and comes off much faster. Sticky roller not needed.👍

I use them, but they are no match for Daisy hair. Some people have a vase of flowers in their entry table. I have a vase of lint rollers.

@susieq : if you happen to have any of the Latex Gloves left over from covid- 2020,
they work wonders for 'wiping off' the fine dog hair/ the fluffy kind,
that's undercoat(the layer closest to the skin).

@Txtoast : Labs, like any water dog, are double coated. The outer coat repels water(unless you are Daisy) and the inner coat keeps them warm(Unless they are like Daisy). Daisy requires a soft bed and external warming or cooling mechanisms to maintain her acceptable body temperature.

I have also learned that Chloe also seems to have two coats. The under coat is white, and sticks tight to anything it touches.

So I feel lucky! The Havanese does not shed-the new pup is only 5lbs and will not get too much bigger. She will shed a little

Yorkies do not shed. I was spoiled. I never knew just how much a Beagle sheds. Chloe does, short black, white, and brown hair every where.

@Txtoast : Havanese is the older one the new pup is a miniature beagle and about 4-6 lbs now. She has brought a renewed spunk of life to the older one. The potty training is going excellent-she runs to the door when the bell rings. Also she can reach the bells to tell us when she needs to go. An excellent addition to the family 💕

My "all American " aka Mutt has short hair and black so it does not show too bad. I use a round horse brush on him and it does the trick removing hair and massages his skin at same time. He's a big guy so lots of hair.

I am learning a lot from reading your posts on how to remove fur like wearing latex gloves ! My dogs don't shed, but I like to educate myself as plan to foster in the future.
