Very worthwhile information. We went to Costco last night with her car 87 was about
3 .79. We are all gonna need this kinda stuff im concerned about what may be happening with food next. There are supply chain issues starting and lots of food that won't be traded from both Russia and Ukraine. I'm also hearing a few countries no longer exporting wheat or flour

I am fortunate enough to have room to freeze flour. I also know how to make bread, by hand or with a bread machine. Vacuum seal, and freeze. Yeast also stores in the freezer. Worst case, you can live without bread. It could be tight for a couple of years, but the land and the capability to produce wheat in America is still out there. Just needs to get going again. You can also buy oxygen absorbers on Amazon and vacuum seal smaller portions of flour with one in them. If you want to store rice, brown rice will go rancid after about 6 months, white rice can last up to 3 years. Dry beans, count on 3 years. They don't go bad, but get harder to cook. Corn meal and whole wheat flour will go rancid faster than white flour. There are all kinds of information on how to prepare as much as possible for these situations, but I think I would start working on the NOW instead of waiting for any panic.

I guess all those people that were labeled crazy preppers a few years ago are prepared for what's coming and don't look so crazy any more.

I had to learn to cook from an early age. I am not a prepper, this is just not the place for that, but I do have some basic knowledge. Pasta keeps much longer than people realize. And ramen, well, I know people who are still eating their Y2K stockpile. If you have room to store jars, you can store flour and rice in jars with your vacuum sealer. Do not discount honey. Get the natural unfiltered stuff, it never goes bad and not only can you cook with it you can also treat burns and cuts with it. Coconut oil does not go rancid, and yes, you can cook with it. Don't forget cleaning supplies, detergent does not go bad, and with the price of oil going up it will be going up.

@Stealth83 : My parents were avid gardeners because they both grew up on farms. Growing up they would force me to weed and water the garden with them. Oh how I hated it!!! Now that I'm older I'm so glad for that time I had with them and all the lessons I learned. I'm still no where near as talented as them growing my own vegetables but at least I have some knowledge.
