And for today’s episode of “It’s Not Just Cats & Dogs”….. This little Texas Brown Snake (also knows as DeKay’s Brown Snake) came to visit at the Pearland shelter and found himself stuck in one of their drains. Luckily they spotted him and were able to pull him out and send him on his way but not after a long discussion with him about staying out of drains. Farewell to their new slithery friend!

Fun Fact: Texas Brown Snakes can grow up to 13 inches and feed on slugs, snails, and earthworms. They tend to stay away from humans but if you do happen to encounter one of these cool dudes, please don’t panic or try to kill them, they are completely harmless and will retreat if you give them the space to do so.
