On November 13th, 2019 the Pearland Police Department and Pearland Fire Department hosted the Gulf Coast Regional UAS Task Force's Multi-Agency Night Operations Training Event.
The training was led by the regional team's president, Brandon Karr. The topics that were discussed and practiced included: how public safety can utilize UAS to respond to emergencies at night, how police can support fire/EMS with UAS, how to conduct a search for person(s) utilizing thermal capabilities, and how UAS can be used to support K9 teams.
There were approximately 40 members in attendance from 18 different agencies. Linkedall UAS Distributors coordinated special guests DJI Senior Director of Public Safety Integration, Romeo Durscher and DJI's Director of Public Safety Integration, Chief Wayne Baker, to also attend the meeting. They discussed how DJI can support regional teams during a disaster such as Hurricane Harvey. Ofc. Larry Boggus with Memorial Villages PD coordinated with Darley to provide catering for the event so that the first responders could maximize the training time.
