Saturday Live Music
Brightwire | 10:30 a.m.
Brightwire is an Americana band born from a household of musicians and hailing from the Houston-area. Combining elements of folk, rock, country, punk and whatever else they happen to get interested in, they weave tales of lives lived in our world today. For them, music is about inclusion and letting others know they are not alone in their struggles. In the wake of the acclaim and exposure from their latest LP, Cracked, Flawed and Frayed (named as one of the top Houston albums of 2021 by the Houston Chronicle), Brightwire came up with the concept of releasing a couple of EPs a year to keep their audience satiated with material and their momentum moving forward, or that’s the story they would like to tell you.
Andrew Bateman | 12:45 p.m.
Andrew Bateman spans the boundaries of genre to deliver a performance of unprecedented versatility. His compositions and arrangements are ever-adaptable to the venue at hand. In addition to a traditional solo repertoire Andrew utilizes a performance technique known as looping wherein he takes on the role of each band member. Audiences can expect to hear a different variety of original pieces mixed with an extensive repertoire of classic, cover songs arranged and adapted to the Spanish guitar. Flamenco, folk, contemporary, rock, blues and jazz and more combine to create a style that retains an upscale ambience while inviting patrons to let their hair down and have a good time. It’s upscale, not uptight.
Wendy Elizabeth Jones | 3 p.m
Wendy Elizabeth Jones is a soulful Texas Singer Songwriter with a Roots and Americana flare crossing genres offering a taste of Rock ‘N’ Roll, Motown, Country, Folk and Blues. She has lived and performed all over and is currently based in her hometown, Houston, TX.
Wendy offers a lively energetic performance whether you catch her in a solo show or her full band.
Sunday Live Music
Little Outfit | 10:30 a.m.
Featuring the formidably sweet Bryant Talley on drums and percussion, Amie Krebbs on lead vocals and percussion and her husband Randy Hill on guitars, Little Outfit has been locked in the studio for the better part of 2022 working on their full length album. They spent the better part of the last decade finding their way through the talent choked world that lives at the crossroads of Folk and Americana. Now, the time has come to follow their hearts and play the roots-based rock and roll that lives inside them. In the words of Todd Snider, “The new stuff is nothing like the old stuff was, and neither one is much when compared to the show.”
Grifters & Shills | 12:45 p.m.
His was hard rock and heavy metal. Hers was the classic sound of the East Texas piney woods. Theirs was a fiery collision, bearing forth a sound that was at once novel and instantly familiar–high lonesome harmonies with a rock and roll soul. Behind Grifters & Shills is John and Rebecca Stoll, native Texans who met in a classic rock/blues jam band in 2008. Between them they discovered a magnetic chemistry that manifested not only in music, but in all aspects of their relationship. When they began playing as a two-piece band, they found a unique voice in the combination of Rebecca’s East Texas vocal stylings and John’s formidable guitar work.
Anthony Puskás | 3 p.m.
Anthony Puskás, the Hungarian Hitman, is a Houston native and has lived and performed in the South Houston area his whole life. The oldest of three children, Anthony has loved music as long as he can remember. He began playing guitar in 6th grade as part of a mini-course offered at his intermediate school. What started as a six-week course of introductory guitar, has grown into a passion that has taken him across Texas, to Oklahoma and Louisiana, and as far as the Mediterranean coast of France.
