Celebrate the Holidays with Pearland's Hometown Christmas
Celebrate the holiday season this December with the City of Pearland. Hometown Christmas festivities include their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Parade and Festival of Lights presented by Second Baptist Church. They will also introduce Blitzen’s Bazaar, a holiday-themed market where visitors can shop for holiday gifts sold and crafted by local vendors.
Kicking off Pearland’s spectacular holiday season is the Blitzen’s Bazaar market and Hometown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, Dec. 2nd. Stop by Blitzen’s Bazaar from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. at Independence Park to get a head start on Christmas gifts and decorations.
The Hometown Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at Independence Park. Activities include the H-E-B's Winter Wonderland, live entertainment on the main stage, a visit from Santa Claus and a Christmas themed firework show proudly presented by University of Houston Clear Lake – Pearland. Parking for the event is at Pearland High School, 3775 S Main St.
The next day, on Saturday, Dec. 3rd, join them for the 40th annual Hometown Christmas Parade at 6 p.m. This parade is more than just floats! You can expect to see marching bands, dance teams, classic cars, lights galore and much more. This year the parade will travel east from Old Alvin Rd to Pearland Parkway across Broadway/FM 518. The celebrations don’t stop there! All month long you can stop by Independence Park between 6- 9 p.m. to enjoy Hometown Christmas Festival of Lights presented by Second Baptist Church. The exhibit is free and open to the public, so make sure to stop by more than once with family and friends from Dec. 2nd- 24th to experience giant displays and illuminated sculptures.
