The thefts take very little time and cause a major inconvenience to the vehicle owner. If you receive compensation for the converter, replacement parts are scarce and could take months to procure. The vehicles being targeted are trucks and SUV's that sit high off the ground, predominantly Toyota vehicles, although all vehicles have converters and are subject to being a target.
