Pearland Transit Needs Assessment and Plan

The City of Pearland wants to hear directly from Pearland residents and understand if public transportation could benefit this community. Take their digital survey and get involved!

What is the Pearland Transit Needs and Assessment Plan?

The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) and the City of Pearland want to hear from Pearland residents and understand if public transportation could benefit the city.

Public transportation, at its core, strives to improve access to our essential needs. It provides people with mobility and access to employment, community resources, medical care, and recreational opportunities. Pearland is one of the fastest-growing suburban cities in Texas, and they are using this time to consider if public transit is needed.

This study and its resulting plan give the community a chance to take a closer look at the Pearland, its mobility needs, and how transit services could fit into that mix, including:

*Review a technical analysis that takes a closer look at Pearland’s population and employment patterns.

*Examine what kinds of public transportation may work in Pearland, as well as potential costs and funding sources.

*Provide considerable input to inform the recommendations for public transportation for Pearland.

They want to hear directly from you and understand how they can better support their residents and their mobility needs. Take their survey below and/or attend a public meeting to get involved!

Your opinion is important to determining community preference and the need for transit in Pearland. Please answer their brief survey below and include any additional information you believe is relevant. Thank you for your assistance.

@Stealth83 : Well I like driving my car. Doy want to depend on public transportation. Don't think I'll be happy waiting for the bus. My humble opinion. That's all……….

I will continue to drive. No waiting for me. If I want to go somewhere I don't want to have to stand around and wait for a bus. But for some it may be good.

This service would be good for people with physical and mental disabilities who cannot drive.

@TownHubAdmin : I'm totally against it. We already have a big traffic problem and now they want to throw in a bunch of massive buses?

As if our roads weren't crappy enough already with all the construction vehicles damaging them.

@Megyn1 : I am totally against having buses in Pearland. First of all, we have massive trucks that are on the roads in Pearland, many times holding up traffic, and as was mentioned on some forum years ago, when you have buses, you will also have some homeless people moving here, living under bridges and store fronts. We also only have 4 lane roads, so when a bus stops to let passengers on or off, the traffic behind the bus will have to come to a stop, creating back ups. The traffic is bad enough without adding buses to the roads here in Pearland.
