West Pearland Library to Close Feb. 5 for Move to New Location

The Pearland Westside Library is moving and their current location will be closed beginning Saturday, February 5, 2022.

They will be closing the building on Business Center Drive beginning February 5th. Keep an eye out for information about their grand opening on Shadow Creek Parkway!

In preparation for the move to the new state of the art library location on Shadow Creek Parkway, the existing Pearland Westside Branch Library will close to the public beginning Saturday, February 5th.

Although the building will be closed to the public while materials and fixtures are packed up and moved, the book drop will remain open for the public to return borrowed items. The current library location will continue to serve as an election venue for the upcoming primary election.

Prior to that date, library patrons who request books and other materials for pickup will need to temporarily select another location to retrieve their requested items. They can do this by logging into their library account online and selecting another library branch for their items to be sent to. The closest branches are the Pearland Tom Reid Library at 3522 Liberty Drive and the Manvel Library at 20514 B Hwy 6.

The new 39,000 square foot facility located at 11801 Shadow Creek Parkway being built by the City of Pearland will be the permanent location of the West Pearland Library and the new location for the Brazoria County Tax Office. The building features a 100-seat teaching theater, group study rooms, conference rooms, a digital maker room for video editing, and many other valuable community features. The new library is expected to open in March, so keep an eye out for grand opening information.
