Dawson High School presents “The Sound of Music”
Experience a night of music and theatre with Dawson High School’s Ovation Theatre production of “The Sound of Music” on Jan. 20-22 and 27-29, 2022 at 7 p.m.
A vibrant version of the musical “The Sound of Music” by Rodgers and Hammerstein will soon take place at Dawson High School.
The show tells the story a young exuberant nun named Maria who lives in Austria in 1938 and is sent from the Nonnberg Abbey, a monastery, to become a young governess for a broken family. As she brings music and joy back to the children and their father, a retired naval officer, Maria faces an unanticipated obstacle: falling in love and deciding whether or not to pursue becoming a nun. Many songs from the musical have become very popular, such as "Edelweiss," "My Favorite Things," "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "Do-Re-Mi," and the title song "The Sound of Music."
The musical “The Sound of Music” can be seen in the DHS auditorium (2050 Cullen Blvd.) on Jan. 20-22 and 27-29 at 7 p.m.
General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students, senior citizens and staff, and $12 for premium seating. All tickets must be purchased online at
