Sienna Fatal Shooting Arrest
On October 26, 2020, at 8:36 a.m. the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls regarding several shots fired in the 2500 block of Amethyst Isle Lane in Sienna.
Upon arrival Deputies found a man shot multiple times in a nearby resident’s backyard. The victim, Martez Hurt, 28, of Missouri City, later died of his injuries. Through the course of the investigation, Detectives learned the woman residing on Amethyst Isle Lane had previous domestic problems with her estranged ex-husband. Hurt has been identified as the woman’s boyfriend.
After gathering witness statements and surveillance video, it was observed that the shooting suspect, Matthew Reshon Jacobs, was waiting for his ex-wife to come home. When the couple arrived, the woman was able to exit the vehicle before Jacobs starting shooting. Hurt was still inside the vehicle, lost control and crashed into a nearby fence. Hurt died at the scene.
Thirty minutes after the suspect’s photo was released, Jacobs turned himself into Missouri City Police Department without incident. Matthew Reshon Jacobs, 32, from Missouri City, has been booked into the Fort Bend County Jail and is charged with Murder.
“As a result of diligent work by all, the manhunt came to an end quickly and peacefully,” said Sheriff Troy Nehls. “If you’re a victim of domestic violence I encourage you to reach out to your local law enforcement agency as we all offer victim services.”
