Save the Pearland Depot! - Citizens' Advisory Committee will meet this Friday, April 28, at 3:00pm at The Drink Station, located at 8209 Broadway St, Suite 103. This is an open meeting, and all are invited to attend. Topics of discussion will be selection of a local non-profit entity to host the designated funds for depot restoration, exploration of local assets for grant-writing, due diligence and project communications, and early-stage discussion of our first public event for benefit of the depot project. If Pearland's history is important to you, and you would like to see our city open its first museum, please consider joining us. I remember when we first moved to Pearland it was still next to the railroad tracks at 35 & 518

Why not turn the depot into an museum with the history of pearland , railroad history and also the group -Pearland Historic society to operate it with donations and grants , funds ?

Sorry it took so long to answer about when the depot was still @ 35 & 518, we moved here in April of 1979. And the police station & court house was located behind it. Population back then was around 14,000, my how things have changed.

Are y'all working with the Pearland Historical Society on this? I know it's been brought up in discussions!! They have a facebook page www.facebook.com/Pea rlandHistoricalSocie ty/ Might be nice to get together on the funding!!

I noticed where the Pearland Historical Society is located next to the tax office, why not move it to the old Depot.

They were going to look into it when they were sure it could be renovated but not sure it would be big enough or if it would be possible. I missed the last meeting so don't know if it was brought up.
