Never fry a turkey indoors!! Please be safe this Thanksgiving. Frying a turkey indoors OR too close to a structure can cause an uncontrollable fire in the blink of an eye- this is how my uncle and his infant child died almost a decade ago, I hope no one attempts to do this or sees a photo of an indoor turkey-fry setup and thinks it is a good idea. It is a horrible idea. Have a safe holiday, everyone.
@AngelaJooooones : Sorry about that! My husband used to fry turkeys for many companies few years back. Was always so careful . Now he doesn't do it anymore those were good times!!
@Knk : It WAS horrific and could have been avoided entirely, which is why I am so sensitive about this topic. I realize Michael1960 meant it as a joke in the other post thread but there are people out there that may see a post similar to that one and take it literally. Injuries related to cooking are much higher around the holidays and once the oil fire gets out of control it is absolutely impossible to slow down or stop.
@AngelaJooooones : I completely understand. I would be overly sensitive to this topic if this happened to my family too. God bless you for making others aware of these safety tips. Please be safe and enjoy your Thanksgiving. I'm so happy they are both alright.
I have never cooked a Turkey by the frying method! I have had them, and they are delicious! My son does cook them this way, but always outdoors. Always being cautious while the bird is frying. I cooked the Turkey today, in a roaster. Turned out pretty darn good! Hope ever ones Turkey dinner was great!
