We are new to Texas & not looking forward to this. Having experienced many Nor-Easters up north, tornadoes, avalanche controls in CA & wildfires...I am good at prepping for doom's day. Anyone have recommendations for quotes on an install of a whole house generator?

@Amybooth : We have a generator and actually the house we purchased must have had that hook up before...would also be interested in a quote for that.

Storm Guadian is a generator installation company in Pearland. They installed mine and did a great job.

@Amybooth : @Lyn0811 : It ain't cheap. Storm Guardian installed a whole home generator for my sister-in-law and it was between 10 to $12,000.00I went to Home Depot and pulled mine out 😆

@Oddriller : @Lyn0811 : @Amybooth : @Stealth83 : @didibenedetti : @Maria60 : What I need is some kind of "pig tail or box hookup" off of my outside main panel where I can just roll my 5500 watt generator up and plug it in to dedicated downstairs stuf that I need supplied.
The year we had to use it for a week due to a hurricane I had stupid extension cords running EVERYWHERE ! It was a mess of cords. I was very thankful for the generator though. 👍

@Tom57 : They is expensive for maybe a couple of time..I will just keep using my portable one...
