Busy week at Pearland Pets - Animal Services
This week has been busy with medical cases at the Pearland shelter.
Chester, tan pittie, came in with dislodged front teeth and a wonky jaw. X-rays reveal Chester was likely shot. One pellet lodged near his neck and another shattered on impact hitting his front teeth breaking and/or dislodging them. Surgery will be required.
Caroline, a gray tabby, arrived dragging her back legs. Her x-rays show a shifted vertebrae. It does not affect her eating, using the litter box or her love for attention and she does not appear in any pain. Treatment options are being explored.
And finally there is Scott, grey neutered male cat, who arrived really off balance. Turns out there may be some brain damage and/or ataxia. His balance isn't great and he takes a little longer to get from point A to point B but he is a lovebug and being cared for until he finds a permanent home, foster, or rescue.
You just never know what challenges this shelter may face day to day but know the animals are in good hands while in their care. Thank you all for your continued support.
