B1895 Tavern will be opening soon in Friendswood

B1895 is expected to open in late September

They are located at 607 S. Friendswood Drive, Ste. 11, Friendswood (former Brasserie 1895). Chef Kris Jakob owned the previous restaurant and owns this tavern.

B1895 Tavern's menu of burgers, salads, tacos and seafood along with an expanded bar.

Oh! This is good to know. The original Brasserie 1895 was a fine dining experience, right? I never went myself. I was always confused by the name because a brasserie by definition is supposed to be a casual place to eat with comfort foods and beer. I'm glad they are going with a new concept.

Yes, fine dining and casual at the same time. Does that make any sense?
It was a hidden gem in Friendswood. French American, Fusion / Eclectic, Belgian Food.
Great food and good service. They were Houston Chronicle's Top 100 restaurants.

Wow - I am really surprised by this. Like Knk said they were very popular and everyone I know that had eaten there spoke highly of it. Maybe it was the prices and they realized they could get more customers with lower priced menu.
