British Swim School opens in Pearland

British Swim School, which offers swimming programs for children ages 3 months through adults, opened a new location in Pearland.

About them: Located in Pearland's 24-Hour Fitness on Broadway Street,
British Swim School uses gentle teaching methods and a survival-first approach to help people of all experience levels become safer, stronger swimmers.

What's next: The business had joined the Pearland Chamber of Commerce and hopes to have a ribbon-cutting this spring after it acquires an additional pool. The swim school currently has two full time and six part-time instructors.

Are parents just to lazy to teach their kids to swim ?

@Coogs24: No. It has nothing to do with being lazy. Some parents don't know how to swim well enough themselves to teach it to someone else. Some parents have more than one child and can't leave them unattended while teaching another one. And some parents don't have access to a swimming pool which makes it really difficult to teach swim lessons.

In improving young children's resilience if falling into water and giving them confidence when playing in a pool.
My daughter was taught by a professional as a baby while I watched.

I think this is a wonderful thing. Something this great coming to Pearland. I would rather have my child learn to swim the correct way. Starting at 3 months is a little scary but when I think about it a good thing.
