Stolen Gas
I inherited a brand new boat at the end of last year. I put in gas additive since we were headed into winter, and brought it home over the weekend to change the gas since the gas is 8 months old, and boat motors are so sensitive. It had a full tank, 27 gallons, but I did take it out once last year. So probably spent 3-4 gallons. When I went to get it out of storage (Pearland Sites Rd), it was laying the on neck. At first I thought the stand collapsed, or maybe I forgot to make sure it was locked in place. I jacked it up with a car jack, and got the stand up, and locked. There was nothing wrong with it, so brought it home. After draining 5-6 gallons, there was no more. I finally figured out, someone collapsed the stand on purpose to pull the gas forward, and they drained it. If you have a boat in storage... It would take about $100 to replace the $60 of gas I had in it. On the other I was going to have to hand pump it 3-4 hours to get the gas out. Instead I spent about 30 minutes, So there was a good side to my theft of gas.
