Pearland Westside Library closing in February New facility to open in March.
The Pearland Westside Branch Library, located at 2803 Business Center Drive, Ste. 101, Pearland, will close to the public Feb. 5, the
Brazoria County Library System, or BCLS, announced in a Jan. 6 news release.
Even though the library will be closed to the public beginning Feb. 5, the book drop will remain open to return borrowed items.
Additionally, people who request books or other materials for pickup will need to select another location to retrieve those items, the release said. People can do so by logging into their library account online and selecting another library branch for the items to be sent, according to the release.
The move corresponds with the opening of the new county library at the northwest corner of Shadow Creek Parkway and Kirby Drive, which is expected to open by March, according to the news release.
The new library, which will be called the West Pearland Library, will boast a 100-seat theater, multipurpose community rooms, private study rooms and outdoor spaces, said Pearland Assistant City Manager Trent Epperson.
It will also house the
Brazoria County Tax Office, he added.
