Due to Covid, this year the family decided to just gift the grandchildren, a stocking stuffer for the adults! Nothing expensive, though! @Inb0913 I too like to receive a gift, even if it' s a stocking stuffer! Emoticon Emoticon

Same here, gifts show some thought and time was devoted to You, what you like. It shows you're appreciated.

I agree with all of you. You can get thoughtful yet inexpensive gifts. It's the thought that counts. Stocking stuffers can be fun.

I've always spent moderately at Christmas. Love and friendship don't have pricetags.

@Knk : Well, throw some ideas my way. My MIL and her twin are so tough, and I don't have the same budget this year.

@Blackbird : They both should understand if you don't have a budget this year. Soft cozy socks or slippers might be nice this time of year.

@Blackbird : I would gift them a hand made gift basket of "COVID Survival" - their favorite candy, the cozy socks or slippoers sound nice, a box of the Vicks shower tablets, tylenol - items to help them through a bout of COVID if they get it, but can also use on a regular day so it won't go to waste.

My sister and her daughter had COVID a few weeks ago, so I did a "make your own" via Amazon. I did a snack bag box for my niece (she's 7), the vicks shower tablets, a thermometer (so they didn't have to share), an "I survived COVID 19 in 2020" set of coffee mugs, some cough drops, soothing teas, and a fleece blanket throw. Oh, and a coloring book. -- My sister had it pretty bad, but my niece only had a cough for a few days, so it helped them and they LOVED it. - Since my BIL was quarantined too I also got them a $100 doordash gift certificate.

I went a bit overboard because of my niece, but the idea is sound - you can put what you want in it.

@jrkbird : I like the idea of fuzzy socks and slippers, but no idea of sizes. I made MIL a bracelet a few years ago, it almost doubled around my wrist. I had to make it longer.

@Blackbird : I think just about any woman over 5'6" and not "petite" wears a size 8.5 - that's the safest bet, and you/she can always return it for the proper size.

@jrkbird : Great suggestions. We suggested the same great ideas....soft cozy socks and slippers. I'm sorry to hear that your sister and young niece contracted COVID. I'm happy it wasn't hard on your 7 yr.old niece but it was rough for your sister. How is your sister doing now? I pray she's doing better. That was a kind offer to give your Brother-in-law a gift card from Doordash gift certificate. Great idea.

@Knk : Yea, sorry, I stole your fuzzy socks and slippers. I saw you had suggested it above my post, and I used them as like a suggestion to add to or build a basket from. I'm always wearing socks because we don't wear shoes in the house, I LOVE my fuzzy socks.

My sister is much better now. It's been three weeks since their quarantine ended, so five weeks since she tested positive. She has severe asthma, it took her down fast. She said it was like the flu x 10. My BIL was the only one in the house healthy, he never caught it thank goodness, so he was having to do everything - and be quarantined with them - and they can be whiny babies! He does all their cooking anyway, and I figured he'd need a break too. Also gave my niece HG something to look forward to, she loves deliveries of packages or food! hahaha.
Since they're in another state, I have to spoil her from afar.

@jrkbird : No worries. We just thought alike. That's all. 😉 We don't wear our shoes in the home either. 👍

I'm so happy your sister is much better. I'm also thankful your BIL stayed healthy during this difficult time. He definitely needed a break. I bet your niece is one happy camper. It's okay to spoil her. That was sweet of you.
