SEARCH TO RESUME SATURDAY MORNING: The Pearland Police Department and our search partner Texas Search and Rescue have reviewed leads and analyzed the search patterns conducted Friday for Marcus McGhee. Based on this analysis we plan to redeploy volunteers from the Dad's Club parking lot. We are asking that volunteers arrive at 30 minute intervals beginning at 8 AM. This will enable us to send search teams out without backing up the parking lot. We appreciate your patience and willingness to allow us the time needed to better allocate resources for this targeted search.

CIVILIAN SEARCHERS TO STAND DOWN: It is with a heavy heart but one full of appreciation that we must ask that civilian search volunteers stand down. We will not deploy any more search teams today and discourage anyone from searching on their own after dark. We have been overwhelmed by the community's response to our call for help and can't express in a few lines here how thankful we are. You have shown us time and time again that when we need you, you respond not only with your time and willingness to help but also with your prayers. Such an outpouring of support for someone in need is humbling and makes us proud to be part of this community. Overnight we will have additional police on duty to investigate tips and run down every possible lead.

CHILD STILL MISSING: As of this moment no trace of Marcus McGhee has been found. Rumors that he has been found are not true. The Houston Police Department's Fox helicopter has been making passes to search the area but has not found anything. For those still on foot or in the area helping search for Marcus McGhee, we received some information that may be helpful: Marcus loves the songs, "Wheels on the Bus," "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes," and "If You're Happy and You Know It." It may be helpful to play those songs within the search area. Also, those searchers on ATV's are asked to drive slowly as they search. Marcus likes ATV's and may be drawn to the sound and may want a ride. Thank you to everyone who is searching!!

Unfortunately there is no new information regarding the ongoing search for Marcus McGhee. With daylight we are hopeful that volunteers may have more luck with search efforts. The first group sent out this morning was directed to the area of Magnolia and FM 1128. There is a bayou and retention ponds in that area that may be attractive to autistic children. The group being briefed this morning by Sgt. Roy Castillo is being directed to the area north of Broadway; specifically Roy, Garden and O'Day Roads. Volunteers are being asked to check property and bodies of water but be respectful of property owners. When in the area, please make contact with homeowners and ask for permission to search their property. Please report any sightings or possible leads to 281.997.4100.

SEARCH UPGRADED: Under the coordination of the Pasadena Police Department we have deployed volunteer ground search teams to check the properties adjacent to where Marcus had been staying. Additionally, ATV's are now being used to check the pipeline easement nearby. These searches are being carefully tracked to ensure that specific areas are checked systematically. Please do not enter the search area on foot or in a vehicle unless you are part of the coordinated search.

SEARCH CONTINUES: We are still searching for 9-year-old Marcus McGhee. There are a few updates: Marcus was captured on surveillance video exiting the rear of the residence on Fite. Marcus left wearing the previously mentioned black Nike T-shirt and black and grey sweat pants however he was not wearing shoes. We are unable to track the iPad because it was wifi-only and is not connected to a network. The Coast Guard helicopter searched all bodies of water as well as the surrounding area but was unable to locate any sign of Marcus. The police department will continue to search for Marcus through the night and will post updates as new information becomes available.
