No state tax is a huge thing for me!
@Magnolia832 -Texas has no state income tax, California does. What is not shown is the impact of state sales tax, which Texas has one of the highest in the nation. What this shows is the federal tax rate screws the lower and middle income Americans.
@Magnolia832 : The cost of a living is a big factor, as well as the unemployment rate. It's easier to make a living here, so to me it's acceptable to pay a little more than a place like CA.
@HillCountry: even if you do get paid. The cost of living outweighs the rise in pay substantially don't debate him too hard he will get big mad. You are thinking too critically and that no good he thinks in one line sentences.
Cost of moving from Dallas to LA would equal a loss of 18,652$ in disposable income or 31% with the " higher wages" . There is a difference between higher nominally and higher value. This website only calculated a 45% cost of living increase to the others 70%. While the previous one assumes you are a homeowner and have no child care which is a big factor when calculating this. www.salary.com/resea rch/cost-of-living/c ompare/dallas-tx/los -angeles-ca#:~:
