Well the citizens of Pearland have spoken. Quentin Wiltz won the mayoral election and made History. Wow!

Let's hope it means people are paying attention to their representatives. 13% of voters is way too low though. People are too complacent, thinking their votes don't matter, or they can't be bothered to learn what the candidates are offering to do. It's not always easy, but the information is available if you seek it out. Voting matters in our daily lives. Register now if you haven't already for the next election.
It's amazing how much attention the Pearland mayor's election has brought across the country. Go Pearland!

@Truthdog: I don't know how long you have lived here. Mayor Reid held office for 40 plus years, 45 to be exact. I have lived here since 1967. It was amazing back then and it's not to bad now. Time brings about a change. And some people are not up to changing. Pearland bled Red, and the good ole boys ruled in city offices. Everyone went about there business and had no problems. Then the population grew, building increased and the chang started. We have good schools, we had that small town feel. The younger generation decided that we needed more development and here we are. As for Mayor that wasn't supposed to happen. Ha ha but it did happen , one good ole boy dropped out leaving the for sure bet in the race. The blind could see what was going on. The for sure bet lost, why because he didn't get enough folks to vote, they just knew he would win so why bother . Wiltz's group worked hard and now he is the Mayor. And we live to see another day. Blessings to you.❤️
I've seen most of it. Been here in the same house since 1984. Met, & talked to Mayor Reid. He was a good man. I think Quentin Wiltz is too. He got out and talked to people one on one to present his ideas and I guess enough people shared his vision for what comes next. Change happens, we move with the times or we get left behind. I hope he can find ways to keep our public schools well funded and supported to keep them as strong as they have been. The places losing their younger familes are very sad places to live.
