A little over 7 hours until the polls close. They will not steal our hope, joy and support for our neighbors in need of help. They will not break us.

Polls close at 7:00 pm. If you are in line by then you can vote. Only 4 & 1/ 2 hours to go.

So it looks like Ken Paxton will be the candidate. I'm not sure if people voted for him to win, or if a lot of people voted for him to be a more beatable candidate in the November election. I admit I considered it, buy ultimately couldn't conscience it due to his apparent moral bankruptcy. He even broke his oath to his own wife, from all reports. I also hoped John Cornyn would eventually find a red line even he couldn't cross. I don't think there is one with Paxton.Time to get behind the better candidate, James Talarico. He's the best candidate in the race and will do a great job representing the people of Texas, not just rubber stamping every weird idea our current president decides is his next way to make money for him and his wealthy supporters with our tax dollars while ignoring the rising costs regular people are dealing with. Trump keeps making fun of the word "affordability". What would he even know about it? If he ever went in a grocery store in the past it was to buy snacks, not to try to make a budget stretch for a week's worth of meals; and Trump never went voluntarily into a church to listen to the advice given from the pulpit. James Talarico is a religious man, that wants all people to have a better life and the rights guaranteed by our entire constitution if that makes a difference to anyone. I'm pretty sure Paxton is avoiding most pastors as well.
Register to vote, listen to James Talarico's concerns for our future and what he hopes to do about the problems in our nation and state. Then get you and your friends out there to VOTE. Also phone bank for James Talarico, and send money. Outside influencers are going all out to put their puppet in place, we have to harness the power of the people to make their suffering and voices heard. It is a statewide election, the gerrymandering does not affect the race. They will try to block votes though so we need overwhelming support to break their hold on our lives and find a way forward.

I said in the past, I am not religious, but if you get married in a church, don't you also take an oath to god as well as your spouse? Ken Paxton's wife implied something along those lines happened. That's a pretty major oath to break if you are being honest. I just don't get people. If you want to have a relationship with another person or thing, have the decency do it when you & they aren't married to someone else. That's dishonesty and abuse of trust to the highest degree. Ken Paxton's morals and motivations are highly questionable especially if you throw in the dirty appearing deals and attempt to get the taxpayers of Texas to pay the $3 million dollar judgement against him. Paxton will be another guy under Trump's thumb for the pardons he might need and Paxton is not going to stand up for the people of Texas.

Someone needs to point out to everyone what the billionaire owned media companies are suppressing and Murdoch and Sinclair backed outlets are gaslighting. Most television and radio outlets have been bought up by far right leaning influencers. Trump is making everything more dangerous, becoming more concerning with his money wasting, mental health and physical issues and he is getting a pass. They were all over Biden for a fraction of Trump's lapses.I looked back, lots of people on here were commenting on Hunter Biden possibly using his name for financial gain. It is nothing to what Trump and his family are doing to profit, yet no one seems concerned now. I have not and will never attack anyone on this board for their opinions. Everyone should have information to make better decisions, however. I hope there are people who read and never post that might look further than Fox or ChatGPT for uncurated news.The spread of new disease outbreaks are our fault for disrupting the monitoring and containment efforts by our aid agencies. I am afraid for everyone in our community and beyond. America first has become America alone. We need friends abroad to solve big issues.
