Pearland will be voting in September on raising our utilities by 12%. Water is out of control now. What is your opinion.

@Megyn1 : The estimate is close to $14/month increase. This is not good!!!!!!!!!

@Megyn1: No No, I thought this had been resolved over the last few years. People have already paid for the City's mistakes. My mom lived in Southdown Subdivision and her water bill was ridiculous and she was the only occupant. I had many visits to the water department behind those crazy bills.

My water bill has been high lately and we don't use an excessive amount of water. I can only imagine how bad it is for larger households.

@Megyn1: inflation has gotten out of control! Everything is going up so much that we will all end up on welfare! When you only get a 3% pay increase, and prices go up at a percentage much higher than that how do they expect us to keep up? It's not just one utility it's all of the utilities, food, etc…RIDICULOUS!!!

@Acg7707: these cities are so much in debt that they prey on the people.

Then "We the People" need to pay better attention to those we vote in, so that we have representatives that know how to budget correctly

Yes I live in Southdown and have had problems with billing. I too lived alone and had bills in the hundreds even after assuring no leaks/running toilets etc. It was addressed with the water dept but- I don't water my lawn and I do conserve water constantly and still have high bills now. The billing and oversight of that dept needs to be addressed and fixed first before considering an increase.

I wish there was something we could do to stop the increase. Sure can't fight City Hall.

How much do you think we can overpay for just about everything. Everyone is struggling as is

@Megyn1 :
Pay now or run dry later! People pay big bucks for bottled water and think nothing of it. Ever stop to figure out what that costs per gallon. Also, your wast water costs are included in the price.

Fix (cut} the budget first! Be more conservative! The city managers screwed up.. And we have been paying for it...
