Pearland Burglary Suspect Apprehended After Police PursuitPearland Police Department Apprehends Suspect Following Burglary and Vehicle PursuitPearland, TX — On August 7, 2025, the Pearland Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress at a residence located in the 13800 block of Evening Wind Drive, Pearland, Fort Bend County.Officers arrived to find that a burglary had occurred and learned the suspect, described as a white male armed with a firearm, had fled the scene driving a black Chevrolet sedan prior to police arrival. Using FLOCK License Plate Recognition (LPR) cameras and surveillance footage from the residence, Pearland PD Crime Analysts were able to positively identify the suspect vehicle.The Pearland Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit immediately began tracking the vehicle as it moved through Houston and Katy, actively scanning on FLOCK LPR cameras. With assistance from the Houston Police Department and Katy Police Department, who were notified and aided in the search, the suspect vehicle was located in Katy, Fort Bend County.A vehicle pursuit ensued, ending with the driver fleeing on foot. A Pearland Police K9 unit apprehended the suspect in a nearby wooded area. The suspect was identified as David James Burns.Mr. Burns was booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on charges of Burglary of a Habitation and Evading by Vehicle. Additional charges are pending at this time.The Pearland Police Department thanks its law enforcement partners for their swift response and collaboration which led to the safe apprehension of the suspect.
