It is owned by the Barcenas, who own Barcenas Bar & Grill 2 on Almeda Genoa Road in Houston.

Has anyone tried it yet?

The first time we went was the 2nd day they opened. The smell of being empty for awhile was not good. But I had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and corn. That so far is a good dish. Monday they sold out of food by 3. Tuesday we went, surprised they had restocked their food already. The food was just ok. My wife had the chicken fried steak, it was still good. I had the chicken fried chicken this time and it was saturated in oil, the mashed potatoes were runny as soup and were in a bowl this time and we both had fried okra which great.

Sometimes a new restaurant takes a week to smooth out the kinks in the cooking and service. Hopefully they will improve. Have they been asking for feedback from diners?

We went today. The food was good and the wait staff was extremely attentive. But taxidermy kind of creeps me out and this guy was right next to our table. At least he wasn't turned around and looking straight at us. Does anyone know what animal this is?

@GoOilers2019 : Appears to be an immature racoon of sorts.
Gosh, I am turned off by taxidermy when having dinner.
I know bbq places are known for it, like Big Horn. Emoticon

@Michael1960 : What is that smell!? It hits you right when you walk in the door. The place is spotlessly clean. But the smell, yuck! I have noticed it at the Italian place next door too. Is it something affecting the whole strip center maybe?

@Txtoast : Yeah, my picture doesn't show the face very well, but it doesn't have the bandit type mask around the eyes like a raccoon. Could this be a fox or some kind of cat? I'm just noticing there is another cat of some kind up by the television set in the background.
