Serial Robbery Suspect Captured After Police Pursuit
From the Pearland Police Department: Serial Aggravated Robbery Suspect Arrested Following Multi-Agency Operation and Pursuit Pearland, TX - After a month-long investigation led by the Pearland Police Department Special Investigations Unit (SIU), a suspect believed to be responsible for a string of aggravated robberies across the area is now in custody. Eric Vaughn Gibson II, of Houston, was apprehended on the evening of June 24, 2025, following a coordinated multi-agency operation and a pursuit that ended in Friendswood. Gibson is suspected in multiple robberies, including:
• May 19, 2025 – Shell Station, 12825 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland
• June 12, 2025 – Buc-ee’s, 11151 Shadow Creek Parkway, Pearland The investigation culminated on the evening of June 24 when, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Gibson committed another robbery at the Chevron gas station located at 17230 Highway 6 in Manvel, Texas. As he fled the scene, officers initiated a vehicle pursuit that went eastbound on Broadway through Pearland, and into the city of Friendswood. The suspect was involved in a crash that rendered his vehicle inoperable. Gibson then fled on foot through a nearby residential area. DPS Air Support played a critical role by tracking the suspect from above and providing real-time updates to ground units. Officers from multiple agencies established a perimeter and quickly narrowed the search. Pearland Police K9 Bowie was deployed and caused the suspect to jump a fence. As Gibson attempted to escape by jumping a fence, Gibson landed directly in front of waiting Pearland Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) Officers and was taken into custody without incident. Gibson was transported to the Pearland Jail, where he was interviewed by investigators and will be formally charged with:
• Five counts of Aggravated Robbery (2 in Pearland, 1 in Manvel, 2 BCSO Jurisdiction)
• Felon in Possession of a Firearm
• Evading Arrest with a Vehicle The Pearland Police Department extends its sincere gratitude to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), Friendswood Police Department for their assistance and collaboration in safely apprehending this individual. This remains an active investigation.
