Northbound frontage road on State Highway 288 between Magnolia and 518 (Broadway)PEDC, along with the City of Pearland - Government, Texas Department of Transportation, and Brazoria County partnered on the construction of a northbound frontage road on State Highway 288 between Magnolia and FM 518 (Broadway). The frontage road, which opened this month, will help address congestion and safety issues at the FM 518 (Broadway) and State Highway 288 intersection and provide two new entries into the Silverlake Shopping Center, home to Target, Kohl’s, Randall’s and many other stores.The state-funded project was originally scheduled to start construction in 2025, however a funding partnership between the City, PEDC, and Brazoria County in 2018 allowed the project to move forward five years. The PEDC contributed $750,000, the City contributed over $5 million, Brazoria County contributed $1.5 million and TxDOT also provided construction management and materials testing for the project.
