Helping Pearland's Animals Just Got Easier

Helping Pearland's Animals Just Got EasierThe City of Pearland has exciting news for anyone who has been thinking about volunteering with Animal Services. Starting Wednesday, October 28, they are ending their formal volunteer orientation sessions. In the past, new volunteers had to wait for a scheduled orientation before they could begin. Now, the city is making the process simpler so you can start making a difference sooner. Here's how the new process works. You can stop by anytime during their open hours, fill out two short forms, and watch a quick video. That's it. Once you finish those steps, you'll be fully set up and ready to volunteer. There's no need to plan around a set date or time, which makes it easier for students, families, and busy adults to get involved. While the sign up process is changing, the city's age rules are staying the same. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Those who are 16 and older may volunteer on their own, but anyone under 16 must have a parent or guardian with them at all times. Please also note that Animal Services cannot accept volunteers who are completing court-ordered community service.
