Draft Code Update, Survey Now Available

Pearland is updating its development regulations to be more modern, flexible, and user friendly and is requesting community input

Five Goals Driving the Update

City planners have outlined five goals shaping the rewrite:

1. Streamline - Update and improve current regulations and standards based on the 2040 adopted Comprehensive Plan.
2. Establish - Revise and establish standards and rules to achieve quality development.
3. Align - Align regulations with current city policies and future growth.
4. Improve - Improve user-friendliness with graphics and imagery.
5. Enhance - Make the UDC more efficient to review and approve new building projects.

Pearlanders can weigh in through the community survey which is open now. City officials believe that resident input will help shape decisions around zoning, development, and housing options.
