Main Bird's Pearland Store Reopens After Renovations

Main Bird Hot Chicken reopened its Pearland location on October 12 after finishing a round of renovations. The biggest change is easy to spot: the walls went from black to white, giving the restaurant a brighter feel. The shop is in Silverlake Center at 9821 Broadway St., Suite 105, and it still serves the Nashville-style chicken tenders and sliders that made it popular. Customers can choose from six heat levels, from no spice at all up to the hottest level, called "Cluck It." The restaurant has hinted at a grand reopening party on social media but hasn't set a date yet.

Main Bird got its start in June 2020 as a single food truck on Lower Westheimer in Houston's Montrose area. The truck was so popular that the owners limited customers to two entrees each. Since then, the brand has grown to six restaurants across the Houston area, including Pearland, Sugar Land, Spring, Westchase, Cypress and Montrose, plus a stall inside the Katy Food Hall that opened in February 2025. All of its chicken is halal, and many locations stay open late, serving customers from 11 a.m. until 4 a.m. every day.

The Pearland restaurant was a big investment even before this fall's makeover. State records show about $200,000 went into building out the 1,570 square foot space in 2024. Main Bird was co-founded by Ali Nasser of Nasser Holdings, who also started Dripped Birria Tacos, a sister restaurant in the same Pearland shopping center. With its new look and late night hours, Main Bird is hoping to stay a go-to spot as Houston's halal hot chicken scene keeps growing.

I dunno about y'all, but I love Nashville hot chicken.

I once poisoned my friend's Yankee husband because it was too spicy for him!

My mom's fried chicken didn't do well with my cousins from Michigan. The tamales we made didn't either. Mom either had an iron stomach or no taste buds.

I have tried Nashville hot chicken while in Nashville and it was not hot at all for me. I was so disappointed, so I have never had it again. Maybe we do Nashville hot chicken different in Texas. LOL
