the pay phone to call for a ride back home. 🪙

@Txtoast: I can remember that also, I was younger and traveled to Louisiana with my grandma. It was the first time I ever saw a real phone booth, it was 10 cents to make a call❤️

A dime. I was in New Jersey once and tried to use a pay phone. When it didn't work, I asked for my money back. They mailed me a check for a dime.

I always kept two quarters jammed into the back of my wallet in case I ever needed to make a call.

Please, it was 10 cents for a phone call and 25 cents for a candy bar. And my mom was too honest to let me just call and hang up, so I always had to use a dime. A few years later, the vending machines all raised candy bars to 35 cents, and I boycotted them, since I needed the dimes to call home.

I just remember wrapping tin foil around a penny,but it never worked!…..oh wait,I did that for my penny loafer shoes! Guess it was a dime for a phone call!
