Manvel Beats Pearland to the Punch With New In-N-Out In-N-Out Burger is planning to open a new restaurant in Manvel. The California-based fast-food chain, famous for its burgers, fries and milkshakes, filed plans with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a location at 21622 Hwy. 288. Construction is expected to start in fall 2027, and the restaurant is set to be finished by summer 2028. An exact opening date has not been announced yet. The Manvel restaurant will join six other In-N-Out locations in the Greater Houston area: Cypress, Katy, Stafford, Webster, Willowbrook and The Woodlands. The company has slowly spread across Texas since it opened its first restaurants in the Dallas area in 2011. For people living south of Houston, this will be one of the closest In-N-Out options yet, especially for drivers who use Hwy. 288 every day. The news is interesting when you compare Manvel to its larger neighbor, Pearland. Pearland has well over 100,000 residents, while Manvel has about 13,000, yet Pearland does not have an In-N-Out of its own. Right now, Pearland residents usually drive to the Webster location near Baybrook Mall. Manvel, however, is one of the fastest-growing cities in the region, and many new neighborhoods are being built along Hwy. 288. Choosing Manvel suggests that In-N-Out is betting on where the area is growing, not just where the most people live today. Manvel leaders have also said the city needs more dining options, so this restaurant could help fill that gap.
