My friend got an email from Pearland.gov....Federal Rail Commission suspended the quiet zone. City is working to get it reinstated. So if you've been wondering like me who only lives a few blocks away, that's why.

Txtoast: they are loud! I'm pretty close to the railroad and I don't mind the train rumbling, but the horn is ridiculous

I agree - I live about one long block away from the tracks - I hear the train rumbling all the time and don't mind it - but luckily I don't live near an intersection where it blows it's whistle.
