T-Day plans
I have a family dinner at 1, a friend's dinner at 3, and my own to make, probably in the next day or two. I found the cutest little 3 lb ham today, so I'm planning on scalloped potatoes and steamed broccoli for the meal. Chocolate cheese cake for a non-traditional dessert.

DD is smoking a turkey breast, I am cooking a whole turkey. Dressing, sweet potato casserole, green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, and rolls. I will be making pumpkin and pecan pies.

I am also going to make some fresh cranberry sauce(new recipe) and possibly a squash casserole, depending on time. I will also do that if we have a vegetarian family with us. Since they are lacto/ovarian, the squash will be squash, onion, carrots, cream of mushroom soup. sour cream, butter, and Stovetop blended till smooth. Top with additional stovetop and bake. Normally, I would use cream of chicken soup, but not this time.

@HillCountry : I admit, my sauce may not be sliced, but I plan to put it in a straight sided jar, so I may be able to slice it, just no ridges.

@cocosmom : I have a recipe for scalloped potatoes that you make a topping for. Buttered bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. It gives them a little crunch. Put it on the last few minutes of baking.

@susieq : I've never had homemade cranberry sauce. Ocean Spray all the way! Ha, it's tradition.

@HillCountry : I'll be using Ocean Spray. I have made the whole berry sauce before, and cranberry relish(chopped cranberries, oranges, nuts, and a little sugar,) but I have not made the jelled sauce. I have also taken raspberry Jello, and added cranberry sauce, nuts, cream cheese and made a mold from it. So, this will be a first, and maybe a last. I have some OS in the pantry just in case.
