Look I have no issue with the police, I have the upmost respect and are thankful for the jobs they do. They run towards danger when others are running away. I just hate the arrogance, abuse and "sovereign citizen" attitude that a lot of them seem to have now a days. Getting away with and helping other cops cover up things. For example police officers breaking the speed limit when not on a emergency call, or using emergency lights to pass through a red light etc. If they can't follow and get away with these simple laws what makes you think they are not breaking more serious laws?

@Stealth83 : Police are quick to shoot a private citizens dog without getting animal control involved but they won't shoot their own aggressive police dog that turned on an officer. I agree I don't know the details of what happened but they seem to show more restraint when it's one of their own.

@MalluGuy : We don't know how seriously they were injured versus the officer. If their injuries were deemed severe enough I'm sure the paramedics would have called for life flight. Fortunately our neighborhood is just across 288 from the hospital.

@PearlandDotCom : What type of dog was it? My son was bit by a Pitbull and it was the scariest thing that I have ever experienced in my life!

@MalluGuy : I personally feel that you don't like Police Officers. It seems that every time an article mentions the Officers you have a negative comment about the situation. Pearland PD Officers deserve the upmost respect from the citizens that they protect. How do you know when an officer puts on their sirens and lights that they are using them to go through a red light? They might be on a call that requires no lights or sirens so they aren't announcing their presence in advance. It could be a robbery of one of the stores in Town Center. The officers put their life's on the line every day/night that they put on their uniform, kiss their family and walk out their front door. Whether you like Officers or not they do deserve our respect.

@Sherry3898 : I don't respect bad cops. There are plenty of them. Just like there are bad priests. They are held to a higher standard. When I was younger I worked as a bouncer for a club downtown. I always had police officers to back me up. Their favorite thing to do was to brag about how they chased a particular suspect and how badly they beat them up. A lot of the police officers couldn't wait till 2am. That was their favorite time of the night. They could tackle someone who was still drinking after 2am and keep them pinned to the floor and use their billy clubs to poke and jab them and yell stop resisting when in fact they weren't. I witnessed this on many occasions and they couldn't wait to get back and brag to their other police buddies about what they did. I always found this kind of sick. So yeah I may have a bad taste for bad police officers. I personally have never had a bad experience with a police officer ever! I know how to be respectful, I know how to be non threatening and I listen and obey all commands. I respect the police and am thankful for the job they do.

@MalluGuy : So your whole attitude about police officers is based on "bad cops"! How many years ago was that experience? Time, people and government officials change over time. I wish people wouldn't throw in statements that aren't true about the situation. These type of comments has the potential to incite individuals that might bring harm.
