According police reports, on September 11, 2019, at approximately 10:07 PM, Pearland Police officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of St. John Street to investigate a dog bite.
The caller stated she and her friend were attacked by the dog inside the residence and were now trapped inside a room separated from the dog. In an attempt to locate the two victims, the officers started working their way around the outside of the home looking for an entry point. Officers made contact with one of the victims through a broken window where she was screaming for help.
At that time, the dog exited the home and the officers observed the dog to have blood on his face and mouth. The officers attempted to retreat back through the gate with the dog in pursuit. After the dog cleared the gate it charged one of the officers. A Pearland Officer discharged his weapon, killing the dog.
The officers entered the home and summoned medics to the scene to render aid. Both victims were transported to the hospital for further medical treatment.
The investigation into the incident continues by detectives and animal control officers.
