Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the tremendous support and collaboration demonstrated during the recent tragic shooting event in our community. In times of crisis, it's the strength of our relationships that sees us through. This week's heartbreaking shooting incident put our partnerships to the test, and the swift and coordinated response across multiple agencies proved we can handle the toughest challenges when we stand united.
Chief Finner, your leadership and the brave actions of the Houston Police Department, including the SWAT team, were invaluable in bringing this situation to a safe resolution. Sheriff Stallman, the assistance provided by your
Brazoria County Sheriff's Office department was critical, and we are thankful for the partnership. Lt. Mena and the Texas Department of Public Safety team, your strategic support made all the difference. I also want to acknowledge Texas Ranger Aaron Arizmendi and Harris County Precinct 2 for their rapid response and support.
To the dispatchers who calmly coordinated rapid response, the detectives whose relentless dedication to uncovering the truth drove them work tirelessly around the clock, and all the first responding officers who ran toward danger to keep our residents safe - your dedication to this city is unmatched. I am honored to work alongside such an outstanding Pearland PD team.
The brave men and women of the Pearland Fire Department deserve immense credit - their rapid emergency medical response and transport skills were crucial in saving lives in this event.
District Attorney Selleck - your office's swift engagement and the investigative experience of your team have already proven invaluable, laying the groundwork for a comprehensive pursuit of justice.
Our Public Information Officers and the City of Pearland - Government team were pivotal in maintaining clear channels of communication - by working hand-in-hand to ensure the public was informed with timely updates as events progressed. For anyone I forgot to mention I apologize, there were many people at the scene I may have missed, but know your contributions were invaluable.
This coordinated success is only possible when you have strong relationships established before crisis strikes, and ongoing training and communication pave the way for effective operations when challenged. You have all demonstrated the power of collaboration between allies. Please accept my department's sincere appreciation for your instrumental role in resolving this incident.
