Pearland Police Department Fights Child Abuse with Dunk Out Event
In honor of April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Pearland Police Department will host the first ever “Dunk Out Child Abuse” fundraising event on Saturday, April 23rd from 6-10 p.m. at Independence Park. The free, family-friendly event raises funds for the
Brazoria County Alliance for Children and will feature a dunk tank, bounce houses, interactive games, food trucks, and a feature film presentation of the movie Monsters, Inc.
The Pearland Police Department’s Victims Liaison program will host the dunk tank attraction, allowing guests to pay a fee to dunk Pearland police officers into a cold tank of water. Even Pearland’s Chief of Police, Johnny Spires, will be facing the dunk tank. All proceeds from “Dunk Out Child Abuse” will be donated to the
Brazoria County Alliance for Children.
Step right up for your chance to dunk a Pearland Police Officer! Just $2 for one chance or $5 for three. All proceeds from Dunk Out Child Abuse will support
Brazoria County Alliance for Children as they fight child abuse.
In 2021, there were 514 reported cases and two deaths resulting from child abuse in
Brazoria County. Proceeds from “Dunk Out Child Abuse” will help the
Brazoria County Alliance for Children conduct abuse recognition and prevention trainings as well as vital, healing therapy for victims. This event is one of many partnerships showcasing the shared commitment between the Pearland Police Department and residents in making Pearland a safe community.
