Thank you Yorkie Rescue Houston!!

When Yorkie Rescue Houston pulled this boy from Pearland Pets - Animal Services, they did so expecting he would probably not be adopted, but would live whatever life he had in the comfort of 'rescue'. imagine their delight when they got an application for him.

This poor boy is still skin and bones. They tried to put some weight on him, but he just wasn't having it. He had a dental yesterday, and lost 0 teeth!! (yay) Hoping some continued quality food will help this boy gain a pound or 2.
Happy adoption day, Mouse. EAT!

@Stealth83 : the rescues take the bad cases with high medical bills and take care of them the rescues do not SELL dogs they adopt them out. they make sure it's a proper home and make sure the dogs have a good life a lot of dogs who are dumped in the shelter are mistreated if it weren't for rescues a lot of dogs would be killed because the shelters can't hold them all never never knock the rescues. I have worked the rescue for many many years and I take on some pretty sick cases and we spend a lot of money getting those dogs healthy and when we adopt them out for only $200 $300 they've already had thousands of dollars of medical bills.

@CPres : You and the rescue you volunteer for do so much hard work and get so much love from these dogs. I know you have spent a lot of money on sick dogs and there are times you don't even ask for any money. You are a hero in the eyes of these dogs

Rescue is hard. It takes an emotional toll as well as financial. Many of the animals that get picked up by rescue would be euthanized, shelters just don't have the money or staff to care for them. Even with discounts, vet bills are not cheap. The effort that goes into socializing these dogs and getting them to trust even a little bit is tremendous. Some will never recover, and yet they will still be loved and cared for by the rescue instead of being dumped at a shelter again.
