The City of Pearland Parks and Recreation Department Upcoming EventsThis may wrap up the last week of National Parks & Recreation Month but that doesn't mean the Pearland Parks and Recreation team are ending on a low note. They have got a ton of events this week in store for y'all to check out!First coming up on Wednesday, July 28th they have Wild Hour Wednesday at 4PM over at the Tom Reid Library where all ages are welcome to join Edu-Katie from the Delores Fenwick Nature Center for a wild time reading a selection of exciting nature books which explore the relationship between predator and prey animals. There may even be a special animal ambassador there from the DFNC with Edu-Katie!Next they have Westside Library's Bad Art Fair in the Park on July 30th at Southdown Park. All ages are welcome to this event where the library will be hosting a competition to create the worst art possible using supplies given onsite. Come out and see how terrible your art can be, and see if you've got what it takes!Lastly but certainly not least, they have TWO events at Independence Park both on Saturday, July 31st! That morning starting at 8AM they have Morning Fitness Mashup, which is free for all attendees and geared toward participants ages 12 and up, the Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium Group Fitness instructors will be out to lead a variety of fitness classes to get your heart rate pumping! Great music and light refreshments will be provided to keep everyone hydrated and energized for this action-packed event. Finally they are rounding out the month with Live Trivia from your friends at the DFNC! This event starts at 8:30PM is and geared towards attendees 21 and above. Be sure to come early and grab some food from one of the food trucks onsite, or bring your own cooler filled with your favorite food and drink. And also don't forget to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. First place winners from each of the five rounds will receive unique one-of-a-kind pieces of animal artwork created by the animal ambassadors at the DFNC! Remember to charge your smart device before arrival as trivia will be played through the Kahoot quiz software, and fear not because wifi will be available onsite for all your data-saving needs!
