The Pearland Animal Shelter need fosters

Fostering saves lives. We have all heard that saying but it is so much more than just a saying for dogs and cats living in a shelter. Their dog adoption floor is full and 6 dogs are waiting for space to open up. Several rescue groups have offered to help get dogs out of the shelter and transported up north but their just aren't enough fosters. Most rescues are foster based so they can only save as many pets as there are fosters willing to temporarily take them in. In most cases dogs need to be out of the shelter for about 2 weeks before they can catch a ride up north where they are almost always adopted quickly because the demand is so great. The need for fosters has never been greater for the pets at The Pearland Animal Shelter. If you can help please call 281-652-1970 or email them at [email protected].

Interested in joining as one of their rescue partners or interesting in fostering? Please send them an email at [email protected].

Fostering is,so rewarding. Believe it or not in The northern states there is actually a shortage of adoptable pets. Fostering is fun and you get to have so many different types to care for and it's only 2 to 6 weeks. Give it a try, you won't be sorry.

I didn't realize fostering is so short term, only for 2 to 6 weeks? That's not bad at all! It's a wonderful Way to have a pet but not a lifetime commitment

@Magnolia832 : not all fostering is?short term. In special cases you could have for a few months and if you choose special needs or medical fosters it could be longer. It's all your choice.

I would love to foster one of these days but I don't think it would be a good time for me to do this now. It would be hard for me to give them up after fostering them short term because I get attached.
