COVID-19 Vaccine Availability in Brazoria County

Post Date: 01/05/2021 6:00 PM

In Brazoria County, over 80 facilities are enrolled with the State to receive and administer the COVID-19 vaccine. County officials encourage eligible residents (those that fall into phase 1A and Phase 1B) to watch for information from local pharmacies, physician’s offices, urgent care facilities, etc., for dates the COVID-19 vaccine will be available at these locations. Brazoria County will post COVID-19 vaccine information and updates on the Brazoria County website www.brazoriacountytx .gov/home as the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available through
the County. CDC has provided information on who gets vaccinated first; when the COVID-19 vaccine is limited, here is the link to that information www.cdc.gov/coronavi rus/2019-ncov/vaccin es/recommendations.h tml

@kathye : I got a notice from Houston Methodist and they assigned us to one of their locations. My husband just rescheduled for Jan 29th though so we could go to Clearlake which is closer than where they wanted us to go.

@Dorothy : Thank you Dorothy! I have been trying to contact all the sites that say they have gotten the vaccine but it's always a recording and they say they're not giving vaccinations to anyone except health care providers and first responders. I'm in the 1B category so I guess I'll just keep checking.

@PearlandDotCom : I had an appointment with the podiatrist this morning. He told me the easiest place to get one is at Methodist. He also told me Kroger in Baytown is now giving it, so other places should follow shortly.

Brazoria County Web page relating to COVID-19 information directs me to online registration to get vaccination. I click and am informed that no online registration possible. Would someone please update information, so citizens are not feeling around in the dark! No information and we are left with a process of rushing around, trying to find a source for vaccinations. Why not establishing a registry, in which citizens can register once and then be assured of being contacted, rather than the current unorganized and unfair process of chasing vaccination sites. Give me a break!
