My wife sells some things on LETGO and other sites sometimes. We recently decided to upgrade our phone, so she was trying to sell it to someone. Well, when she arrived to sell the phone, the buyer threw a fake 100 dollar bill at her, grabbed the phone and darted.
.
Just beware of ignorant people out there. WE believe the issue will be resolved soon, and the police are involved, but it sucks to think people just aren't trustworthy here in Pearland. I love this city and there are a lot of great people in it. It just sucks that we have to put up with folks like this.

Some towns are starting safe exchange zones in front of the police station. It is a parking area where you can do exchanges like the phone, or even swap child custody after a visitation. Much better than meeting a stranger on a parking lot somewhere.

Pearland PD has a safe exchange zone on Cullen. I've used it a few times.

For me it's just easier to donate it and take the tax deduction. I like the idea of a safe meeting place

@bbq4life : I understand your frustration , but this person does not neccesarily have to be from Pearland. Once you put it out there , if a person wants to rob you and wants what you have, they can and will come from anywhere . Go down any of our highways and you are instantly in other towns. I think this should serve as a lesson to others, to be more careful in advertising and selling items. I am sorry it has come to this in our town or any town , but we have to face facts.

@dot2101 : Are you kidding me? What does other towns have to do with this? I love Pearland, just made a comment that it sucks our town is doing this too, like in other towns. Like it serves my family right because we wanted to sell something we didn't need anymore? I am usually pretty calm about comments because everyone has an opinion and is entitled to theirs, but I'll just say I don't agree with you on this one or see your view.

@bbq4life : so very sorry you misunderstood me, I am only commenting that it can happen anywhere and does . We all love Pearland and of course we hate it happens here, but it does , just like all towns.
