City crews will begin asphalt pavement repairs on Fite Rd. beginning today, Monday, July 16, and are planning to complete the work within 6 - 8 weeks. The City's street network requires regular maintenance and this project has been identified as a critical area for repair, due to the function of the road for carrying local traffic.
The work on Fite Rd will be concentrated between Cullen Parkway and Manvel Rd. (FM 1128), and focused on three (3) areas of approximately 1,100 feet in length each. (Map attached)
Repairs will commence in the eastbound lane of Fite Rd., 200 ft. west of the intersection of Meadowhurst Dr. Alternate lanes in each subsection will be closed and regulated by flagmen and traffic control devices.
Project activities are weather dependent and subject to change. Drivers should be aware of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the vicinity of the worksite, and be prepared for delays resulting from the construction work. This work however, should not interfere with access to any surrounding properties or businesses. The City urges all drivers to exercise caution while in the area and obey all traffic controls and flaggers.
